The New Statement of Intent

What is my Intention with this Magazine? My magazine called ‘Rogue’ will focus on rising celebrities whose stories people want to hear and whose brands they want to own. It will discuss both men and women's lifestyles, brands and current affairs. Both front covers and the website will use Hollywood stars to secure a mainstream audience who admire these wealthy individuals. Lifestyle magazines need to convince people to be like these celebrities so the mise-en-scene will reinforce their wealth and fame as they wear renowned brands and products. These celebrities will also be chosen for their values which match Hearst like empowering people to better themselves, which the magazine will do through a diverse representation of gender, age and ethnicity. Each model will be represented individually and will be able to share their ideology and encourage people to be like them in their beliefs and actions. This representation aligns with the ideology of the magazine itself which is intende...

Meet the New Role Models

Dennis Grayson, 25 - Hollywood Actor: Who are they? Grayson is a famous English actor who has made his millions in significant supporting or leading roles, first in the ITV crime series "Safety Last" and then in his first feature film, "March of the Gracious", alongside Denzel Washington. Its sequel of the same name grossed $422m worldwide and boosted him to stardom and a staggering net worth of $17m. Now, in his third feature film, he stars as the leader of a special operations group flushing out a national drug cartel in England. Aside from the obvious fame of starring in some big hits, Grayson has made a name for himself as a down-to-earth guy always willing to interact with his fans. He has donated to good causes too like the Samaritan's Purse which received £500,000 from the star. Despite being charitable, Grayson is also perfect for the front cover of my new magazine because of the expensive brands he uses such as Mustang and Rolex, owning several of both...

Meet the New Target Audience

Target Audience: My new magazine will target young adults aged 16 to 25 by using celebrities above their age range whom they can conceivably aspire to be like. They will be mainly from the ABC1 demographic as they need to have enough disposable income to afford the glossy magazine and even more income to afford any of the products advertised. Vogue often advertises Samsung and Gucci whilst GQ spent $100m on advertising well-known deodorant or body wash brands such as Old Spice or expensive alcohol like Bombay Sapphire last year. These are aimed at roughly the same demographic of affluent and aspirational young people who want to become something more with brands that show off their status. My new magazine will advertise similar products which the front cover stars use and endorse so that this same demographic is attracted to buy the magazine and the products it represents. Aside from the ABC1 demographic, the target audience will appeal to both genders to maximise the profit from ...

Rebranding - What is Changing?

Something New... Most things change in life. Our magazine is one of them. After working on a product which was straying from our client's brief, we have decided to head in a different direction and start catering to what the audience wants. This means that the magazine will now focus on a broader lifestyle and will be aspirational in tone, encouraging young adult readers like you to aspire to be like the front cover stars and helping you to achieve that through branding and exclusive interviews. We feel this will satisfy your needs better as an audience who demand content that will inspire you to be like the front cover stars. Consequently, you will soon be meeting the new role models as well as being able to see the new design of the magazine. This design will be closer to other lifestyle magazines such as GQ and Vogue and the models used will be from amongst your favourite celebrities.  Keep a look out for the new magazine later this month...
